Sony Playstation 3 might be further delayed
Sony might not say it but there are enough indications around that make market experts believe that Sony Playstation 3 just might be delayed to the early 2007. The company however maintains on the Playstation website that the console is destined for release in spring 2006.
However, even if Sony manages to launch the gaming console this year, they are sure to miss launching the console in some of the major markets within this year itself. The scarier point is that certain market experts have reported that the console might be costing the electronics giant around $900 per unit to produce initially.
Hitoshi Kuriyama of Merrill Lynch in Japan has said in a report that the gaming console could be delayed by between 6 and 12 months. This would mean that the console might see a launch in Japan in autumn. US market might get access to this much-awaited console only by 2007.
The company is expected to reveal more details about their next generation Playstation console at the upcoming Game Developers Conference in San Jose in March and the E3 video games show in Los Angeles in May.
