Nvidia to continue their relationship with Sony Corp

Entertainment giants and maker of the very popular Playstation gaming consoles Sony has signed on a deal with the graphic processors maker Nvidia. The two companies have already worked on the graphical processor of the upcoming Sony Playstation 3 gaming console.

Nvidia said in a statement about this deal that it would be worth more than what they were paid for creating the graphics processor for the upcoming PlayStation 3 video game console. As per incoming reports, Sony paid the company $30 million for designing the PS3’s graphics chip.

Nvidia’s chief financial officer Marv Burkett said in a statement on this extended agreement: “We had anticipated that (contract revenue) would drop off, but that’s not going to happen. We have new contracts with Sony to do some further designs.”

However, they have not disclosed on what kind of products and technologies they would work on for Sony. This would be a big boost for Nvidia as their prime competitor ATI are working with the other giants in the videogame console market, Microsoft.
