Nintendo Revolution launch along with 20 videogame titles
Nintendo has revealed that they would be making available as many 20 gaming titles at the time of the launch of their next generation gaming console, Nintendo Revolution. Nintendo of America’s George Harrison also talked about the importance of having a good first year by delivering a constant stream of good software.
Nintendo is expected to launch their Revolution gaming console before Thanksgiving this year. Harrison added that as many as a third of these 20 gaming titles would be from Nintendo itself. He also said that the company has learnt valuable lessons from observing the success of Sony’s PlayStation 2 and their own GameCube console.
Harrison said: “The other thing we recognized is that you really make your reputation in the first year. You’ve got to deliver software, not just at launch, but you’ve got to deliver software in the first six to nine months after launch. It has to be solid software. In GameCube, we didn’t have that, we had kind of a drought for six months after it launched. By that time your reputation starts to solidify and it’s hard to reverse that after awhile.”
Harrison also said that the company would be selling this console at a “more mass market priceā. This means that the Nintendo Revolution should be cheaper than both Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 gaming console.
