Paramount Pictures bringing HD movie promos to Microsoft Xbox 360
Paramount Pictures has said they would soon be offering high-def downloads for its upcoming films Mission: Impossible III and Nacho Libre on the recently launched next generation gaming console Microsoft Xbox 360.
This experiment is crucial, as it would be showcasing the future of gaming consoles as entertainment media centers capable of performing much more than just videogames. Sony is also expected to provide many such features in their Playstation 3 gaming console.
Epic Records also recently announced their deal with Microsoft according to which they would be offering free music video downloads from emerging artists on Xbox 360. Gerry Rich, Paramount’s worldwide marketing president said in a statement on their plans: “It hits the audience in a big way – the 12 to 34-year-old audience. That’s the sweet spot of frequent moviegoers.”
He further said: “They’re the early adopters. We think they impact and influence a lot of folks. They’re gatekeepers of what’s cool and what’s not.”
