USA Network to air Major League Gaming

Major League Gaming is said to be the world’s first professional video-game league. And the group has said that USA Network would be showcasing the entire pro circuit on the cable channel during the holiday season.

This professional gaming league has also managed to rope in sponsors like Boost Mobile, a youth-oriented mobile phone service, and Toyota Scion. In addition, Major League Gaming has also received $10 million in venture capital funding which they say would help them build a mass-market business to complement the $25 billion global video-game business.

Major League Gaming would be operating a seven-city pro tour and championship. In addition, they would also be managing a group of world’s top video gamers. The group also has plans to develop and produce online and broadcast-quality programming.

USA Network would be airing seven one-hour episodes during the holiday season. The competition is worth more than $800,000 in cash and prizes.
