Electronic Art claims Madden for Nintendo Wii is not a port
World’s largest publisher of videogames Electronic Arts has already said that they would be bringing their Madden game for the Nintendo Wii platform. However, contrary to popular beliefs this version won’t be a port of existing versions available for other platforms.
EA senior vice president John Schappert said in a statmenet: “What we are most proud of…is that it is a unique Revolution offering. We’ve built Madden for the Revolution.” Electronic Arts was one of the first main videogame developers to pledge support of this console.
Schappert added that the company had never planned to port the game to this new platform. In fact, the developers wanted to develop the entirely new Madden experience for Nintendo Wii gamers.
Gamers would be able to hike the ball from the center with an upwards, hiking motion and throw the ball by making a throwing motion. They have already performed focus tests with this “Gesture System” and noted how everyone makes a throwing motion in different ways. However, they are sure that by the time the game ships into the retail market, the game would be smart enough to interpret everyone’s different actions.
