Microsoft sides with Nintendo Wii in war against Sony Playstation 3

Nintendo has been saying this ever that they are not competing against Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 with their Wii. It is a gaming machine for the masses and does not come with support for high-definition displays and stuff.

Microsoft has now shown their preference to side with Nintendo to challenge the market leaders Sony who are going to launch Sony Playstation 3 later this year. The pricing of the Sony Playstation 3 is so high that Microsoft believes that consumer would rather purchase the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

Peter Moore, a Microsoft vice president said in a statement making fun of the pricing of the Playstation 3: “Tell me why you would buy a $600 PS3? People are going to buy two (machines.) They’re going to buy an Xbox and they’re going to buy a Wii … for the price of one PS3.”

The company also believes that they would have sold around 10 million units of Xbox 360 by the time Sony comes out with their Playstation 3 gaming console. Microsoft however does not ship their Xbox 360 with a high definition standard supporting disc drive like the PS3 does but they would soon start selling an add-on attachment for the Xbox 360, which would support the HD DVD discs.

PS3 are winning by so far it is not funny.
After the price drop, PS3 have now sold as many consoles as xbox 360, not bad for M$ having more then a year headstart!
