Nintendo might not launch an update for Game Boy Advance
Nintendo is currently working on the launch of their upcoming next generation gaming console Nintendo Wii. In addition, they already have a massively successful handheld console Nintendo DS. This has resulted in a position that the company might not launch a new version of its wildly popular Game Boy Advance portable game.
Market analysts believe that they would instead concentrate on their latest hit machine the DS, which has taken the heat out of the Sony Playstation Portable device in the Japanese market.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in a statement on their plans: “I would have a second thought about using our resources on what would be the next generation of Game Boy Advance, considering the strong support DS is now enjoying.”
He added: “The Japanese game market is now evolving around DS. We don’t need to do something that will pour cold water on the situation.”
As per market reports, since the launch Nintendo has sold more than 16 million units of its dual-screened Nintendo DS machines.
