Microsoft Xbox 360 + HD DVD drive to be cheaper than Sony Playstation 3
Incoming news sources claim that the software giant has plans to price their HD DVD attachment at competitive price. The aim is to make sure that the Xbox 360 gaming console along with the attachment costs lower than the comparable Sony Playstation 3 machine due to come out in November this year.
Sony is bundling their developed Blu-Ray format drive with the Playstation 3 console and this has driven the cost of the console to unrealistic levels. This also means that the company would be losing a lot of money on each of their consoles sold in the retail market.
Microsoft plans to help their customers by providing a HD DVD drive add-on for the existing Xbox 360 consoles in the market later this year. This would enable the owners of Xbox 360 to enjoy high definition video on their consoles.
An Xbox 360 plus a cheap HD DVD attachment might help Microsoft to take on the renewed competition from Sony later this year. It would be interesting to see how the consumers react to this scenario.
