Nintendo DS Lite is out in USA
Nintendo has officially launched the Nintendo DS Lite handheld gaming console in the US market. The launch party started at midnight at its Nintendo World store in the Rockefeller Centre in New York.
Reports claimed that many stores broke the street date on the console by selling them on Saturday but officially, the sale began on Sunday.
The company celebrated the launch by offering a free copy of Brain Age to the first hundred purchasers of the DS Lite. Nintendo DS Lite is available in USA for $129.99 and is only available in the white color in the US market.
DS Lite has been outselling its prime competitor Sony Playstation Portable in the Japanese market comfortably. It would be interesting to see how these two consoles perform in the US market against one another.
Nintendo is due to launch DS Lite in Europe later this month, on June 23, with a price point of 149.99 Euro / GBP 99.99.
