Qimonda to supply RAM for Microsoft Xbox 360

German semi-conductors giant Infineon has landed a big deal with Microsoft for their subsidiary Qimonda.

Qimonda would now supply graphic RAM (random access memory) chips to the US based software giant Microsoft.

The company said in a statement that they have been picked by Microsoft as a preferred supplier of graphics RAM for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game console.

The two companies have however declined to reveal the financial details of this deal, which could become a major source of revenue for Qimonda in the coming years.

Qimonda is scheduled to be floated on the New York Stock Exchange shortly and the news should help them get a bumper opening in the stock market. The company employs a workforce of 12,000 and has annual sales of around 2.8 billion euros.
