Playstation 3 games could be more expensive than Xbox 360 games
Sony Playstation 3 is turning out to be an expensive deal for both Sony and the targeted gamers around the world. The console is already confirmed to be a whole lot more expensive than the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming machine and now Sony has hinted that the gaming media too could be pricey.
Kaz Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment America said in a statement during a recent interview with US consumer magazine PSM: “Generally speaking, over the past twelve years or so, there has been a consumer expectation that disc based games are maybe US$ 59 on the high end to US$ 39 on the low end.”
He further added: “So, what I can say now is, I think it would be a bit of a stretch to think that we could suddenly turn around and say ‘PS3 games now US$ 99.99’.”
Hirai said: “If it becomes a bit higher than US$ 59, don’t ding me, but, again, I don’t expect it to be US$ 100.”
He also went on to say that the company is working hard on making sure that the console is as affordable as possible for the end consumer.
