Magazine states that Nintendo might launch Wii on November 6

Sports Illustrated for Kids has said that they expect Nintendo to launch their upcoming gaming console Nintendo Wii on November 9.

The Japanese company has however yet to reveal anything on the launch date of this highly anticipated gaming console, which would take on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3.

If the Wii indeed comes out on November 6 as predicted by the magazine, it would give Nintendo an 11-day lead over Sony’s Playstation 3. Sony is due to launch their PS3 gaming console on November 17.

A launch in November won’t be new for the company, as they had launched the original Nintendo DS on Nov. 21, 2004. Microsoft too joined the club by launching their Xbox 360 on Nov. 22 in 2005.

This is also a good period for the launch of a gaming device as it gives the company enough time to prepare for the holiday season in some of the biggest markets in the world.
