Nintendo opens up an office in South Korea
Japanese Videogame console maker Nintendo are doing incredibly well with the DS Lite handheld gaming console and the amazing Nintendo Wii is coming on next.
In other news, the company has announced the opening of their new base in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul.
Nintendo of Korea is now open and has been established with an investment of around $26 million. It would be replacing the efforts of Korean distribution company Daiwon CI which had been handling the distribution of Nintendo products in the country.
Nintendo decided to enter the South Korean market itself after receiving criticism on how Daiwon CI handled the post-purchase consumer support of Nintendo products.
Nintendo of Korea is being headed by Mineo Kouda and they plan to begin localization work on DS software beginning on July 20. The company has been expanding rapidly in the recent years. One of the prime examples of this is iQue, which is based in China.
