Electronic Arts to release new game based on the Lord of the Rings
Electronic Arts are the world’s largest videogame producers and the company has now announced that they are working on a role-playing game based on the popular Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Electronic Arts spokesperson Scott Gamel said in a statement on these plans: “We will launch the Lord of the Rings game at the end of 2007. The game will incorporate elements from the J.R.R. Tolkien novels and also from the recent Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, which was produced by New Zealander Paul Jackson.”
The game would be called The Lord of the Rings, The White Council and it would be developed at Electronic Arts’ Redwood City, California studio.
However, the company is releasing little details on this new game. Gamel added: “We are not disclosing a lot of information about the game at this stage, as it has not been developed yet. The game is intended for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC. It will not be available for Nintendo’s Wii games console format.”
This is going to disappoint a lot of Nintendo Wii prospective buyers…
