Nintendo DS Lite is a best seller in USA

Nintendo just recently launched their Nintendo DS Lite handheld gaming machine in the US market and it has already started to dominate the market.

NPD Group has confirmed in a statement that as many as 600,000 units of this updated handheld gaming machine have been sold in the market.

Impressively, this is at least double the sales of any other consoles available in the market right now. Even more than the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console!

Nintendo has another highlight in the form of New Super Mario Bros. game for the DS Lite device. This game topped the software sales chart for the second month in a row with 450,000 units sold during the month of June.

George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications spoke on these statistics: “Nintendo DS is the only game system available a year ago that showed growth over the same period, and it did so in overwhelming fashion, with a leap of 426 percent. What we’re seeing is realization of our promise that Nintendo will bring gaming to the masses — whatever your taste or level of experience, we’ve got a system and a game for you.”
