Microsoft expecting to sell 15 million Xbox 360 by the end of its fiscal 2007
Software giants Microsoft have said in their revenue reports that they are on track to sell as many as 15 million units of the Xbox 360 gaming console by the end of their current fiscal year.
The company is also hoping that they would be able to sell as many as 10 million consoles by the end of this year. The momentum for this gaming console is pretty strong as the competitors Sony are yet to come out with their Playstation 3 gaming console in the market.
In the most recent quarter, the company managed to sell around 1.8 million game consoles, which is a record for them. The sales of Xbox 360 have now crossed 5 million units around the world.
Out of these around 3.3 million units have been sold in the US market, 1.3 million units have been sold in the European market and the rest of the units were sold in other markets of Microsoft around the world.
Microsoft has been also very successful with their online gaming club, Xbox Live. The company said in a statement that as many as 3 million members connect to this service from around the world. And as many as 60 percent of all installed Xbox 360 consoles are connected to Xbox Live.
