Nintendo answers the questions related to cracking DS Lite consoles
Japanese maker of Videogaming consoles Nintendo has finally answered the questions arising on internet discussion forums and blogs on reported cracking DS Lite consoles.
A small percentage of owners of the newly launched DS Lite console are noticing a small crack running through the plastic hinges where the upper half of the system connects to the lower half.
The company responded in a statement saying: “In the U.S., the reported number of small cosmetic cracks in the plastic hinge of DS Lite systems represents less than 0.02 percent of the total units sold. This cosmetic issue in no way impacts the gameplay or integrity of the DS Lite. Nintendo stands behind the quality of our products and encourages DS Lite owners to contact our Customer Service Department if they are not happy with the functionality of their system.”
Interestingly, when we compare it to the problems Microsoft Xbox 360 user faced Nintendo has shown an impressive level of quality delivered through their DS Lite console. Microsoft had reported that approximately 3 percent of its units were experiencing problems in the initial days of launch of the Xbox 360 console.

Sony understands this subject very well as we have years of experience dealing with technical faults and have met the challenge in the most responsible way possible. That’s why we have increased the number of lawyers at our service centers ten fold.
I remember the first time we found a crack in the PSP. Soon after release we identified a small crack originating in the lower corner of Spain. The best way to fill such a crack is to cum out with a root kit. That’s what we do here at Sony, we insert some firmware and apply the rootkit infected with a virus that aids Sony in stamping out fun – and we call our lawyers.
