Electronic Arts to offer online games in Chinese market
World’s largest publisher of videogames Electronic Arts has confirmed that they are planning to launch its first online game for distribution in China.
This is the second announcement from the company this month and this comes after they recently disclosed plans to make china their global center for online game development.
EA is setting up a 500-person studio and they are aiming to generate $1 billion in Asian revenue by 2010.
They have already been present in this market since the last two years but have been pretty quiet about their operations in china.
Electronic Arts would work with their local partners Guangdong Tian Yue Network Technology Development Co. Ltd. to offer this fantasy-themed game “Tales Runner” in China.
They had just recently announced similar plans to launch a stable of casual online games grouped under the “Pogo” name to the Chinese market.
