Left Behind Games to link videogames with Apple iTunes digital media store
A startup video-game developer Left Behind Games Inc. has said in a statement that they would start linking their games with the Apple iTunes digital media store.
This would enable the gamers to purchase the music they hear inside the games as per their convenience.
The company added that they are due to ship the Eternal Forces video game in October this year and it would have integrated links to Apple’s music store.
Jeff Frichner, Left Behind Games president and cofounder added in a statement: “After each game level you win, a reward screen pops up with the name of the song and artist. The link takes the person to the album track on the iTunes site.”
If the gamer click on the relevant link, the game would pause at that moment and he/she would be taken to iTunes where they can buy the song online.
After the deal is done, the game would resume where it was paused earlier. Gamers would also be able to customize music lists and listen to songs they download while playing the video game.
Left Behind Games initially plan to launch this service on the PC platform and might make a move to the Mac platform based on user feedback.
