NHN Corp. targeting USA for growth in the online videogame market
South Korea’s top online video game company NHN Corp. has said that they want to become a major player in this market in the US.
The company announced their plans to set up shop in Mountain View, California. They would soon roll out games and search services targeted at computer users 18 to 34 years old.
NHN global chief executive officer Kim Beom-Su said in a statement on their future plans: “Our plan is to become a major player worldwide, so getting a foothold in the United States is a critical step for NHN.”
He added: “The market for online interactive entertainment in the United States is much broader than the small hardcore segment and much of it is underserved. We’re using our knowledge of how to appeal to a wide range of online gamers and applying it to the American market.”
Their US division currently has around 50 employees and they are planning massive expansions in the coming days to grow in this competitive market.
