Consumer Electronics Association might take over from Electronic Entertainment Expo
It was a huge disappointment for the gaming fans when the organizers of the E3 Expo said that they would be drastically scaling back this gaming convention from next year.
However, there is some hope as the Consumer Electronics Association has now announced that they might be interested in possibly arranging a gaming and entertainment event on the west coast next year.
They are popular for the Consumer Electronics Show, which is held in Las Vegas.
They are now forming an advisory committee that will ask the gaming industry for feedback about a west coast event.
The group is also hunting for a possible location in Las Vegas and Los Angeles sometime in May for a possible show to replace the E3. Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA spoke on this new development: “Since ESA decided to eliminate the E3 event in its known format, we have been deluged with inquiries on whether we could fill the tradeshow needs of smaller video entertainment companies.”
