Microsoft to release XNA Game Studio Express program
Software giants Microsoft have said that they would make it easier for casual developers to make games for their Xbox 360 gaming console.
The company is planning to release a consumer version of the professional software tools used to create video games for its Xbox 360 console.
This application would be called XNA Game Studio Express program and it would be an offshoot of the company’s more robust XNA Framework.
Microsoft plans to release it on Aug. 30 for a $99 annual subscription.
The application would require a Windows PC to operate and anyone interested would be able to create their own video games and then share them on Microsoft’s Xbox Live online game service.
Peter Moore spoke on this product: “It’s our first step of creating a YouTube for video games. It will give you everything you need to bring your game to life on Xbox 360.”
