Microsoft to provide wireless accessories for Xbox 360

With the holiday season coming and both Sony and Nintendo due to launch their next generation gaming consoles, Microsoft has revealed their plans to counter the upcoming challengers.

The company announced wireless accessories for the already available Xbox 360 gaming console at the ongoing 2007 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany.

These new accessories would include a camera for video chat and a racing wheel for playing racing videogames on the Xbox 360 gaming console.

Microsoft would be launching the Xbox Live Vision camera in the US market in September this year. It would let the Xbox 360 gamers to see each other while playing on the Microsoft’s Xbox Live online service

Microsoft plans to sell a package for USD 39.99, which would include the camera, a headset for voice chat, and a one-month subscription to the premium version of Xbox Live.

November would see them launching the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel. It would retail for around $149.99 and would come with features like force feedback.

Microsoft is also planning to launch a $59.99 wireless headset for voice chatting and a $19.99 wireless receiver so consumers can use the devices to play games on their Windows-based computers.

Sony and Nintendo are scheduled to launch the Playstation 3 and Wii gaming consoles respectively later this year.
