Analysts: Sony would fail to deliver enough Playstation 3 units

Japanese brokerage Mitsubishi UJF Securities has said in a report that they do not believe that Sony would be able to deliver the number of PS3 units they plan to ship at the launch time.

In fact, the firm believes that the company would face a 50 per cent shortfall on their launch estimates.

This news alone resulted in a 3% drop in the share price of the company at the stock market.

Masahiko Ishino, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities analyst wrote in the report: “In the medium term this would mean that it would take longer for Sony to recover its huge investment in PS3 and thus we are downgrading the stock.”

Sony Playstation 3 would take on Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii gaming consoles in the market.

I know people who went through several Playstation 2 systems. PS2 is a success now but it failed on it\'s launch year, as most companies do and it took them a year to two before they ever fixed the disc read error, that hundreds of thousands of people were effected by.

PS3 will be all over the place next year.

Metal Gear Solid 4.

All rumors!!!
How can people talk about a console that is not in his/her hands.
I have many of sony products, and im very happy with all, with zero problems from any of them.
So, im confident with the ps3, and will buy one without doubts, just because is a sony.
Wish i can say the same for my motorola cell and my ford SUV.

Quality has gone downhill and the PS3 is stretched.

A very hot 90nm Cell with IBM admitting the fabs are producing low yields. This is sitting next to a hot RX GPU an internal power supply & HDD all housed in a plastic box with no fans... What is sitting on top of all this? A plastic Blu-ray drive.

I would not touch anything that blows out of Sony these days least of all a PS3 with Blow-ray drive.

This is going to be a mess for Sony - but I feel sorry for any consumers who get caught up in all this.

why can't these companies deliver on time?
