Microsoft might lure Japanese customers with a cheaper Xbox 360 variant
Business daily Nihon Keizai has claimed in a report that software giants Microsoft is considering launching a cheaper variant of their Xbox 360 gaming console in the Japanese market.
This console would try to lure away customers from the cheaper Sony Playstation 2 gaming console, which still manages to generate big numbers for rival Sony.
Microsoft also faces strong competition from Nintendo though they do not have a product to challenge the Xbox 360 in this market. Nintendo is however due to launch the Wii gaming console later this year at a price, which should be much lower than that of the Xbox 360.
Microsoft is already selling a cheaper variant in their home market of USA and Europe.
