Apple iPod now does games as well

There is good news for the owners of the fifth generation of Apple iPods. Apple has now enabled them to play games.

The company also announced the launch titles which include familiar names like Pac-Man, Tetris, Mahjong, Bejeweled, Zuma, Cubis 2, Texas Hold ‘em, Mini Golf and Vortex.

These games are now available for download through Apple iTunes digital store and would cost around US$ 4.99 (4 euros).

Apple is collaborating with gaming companies like Namco, Electronic Arts, PopCap, FreshGames and these would be developing more games for the Apple iPod.

Market analysts have long been talking about a possible entry of Apple into this space. However, we might not see Apple challenging the likes of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft in the near future.
