Nintendo aiming for early profits from Nintendo Wii gaming console
Japanese maker of videogame consoles Nintendo is due to launch their latest gaming console Nintendo Wii later this year.
And unlike Microsoft and Sony, they are sure that the new Wii game console and related software will be profitable to the company once sales begin in the United States in November.
Reggie Fils-Aime president of Nintendo of America said in a statement: “We will make a profit on the entire Wii proposition out of the box — hardware and software. That really is a very different philosophy versus our competitors. We are a company that competes only in the interactive entertainment space so we have to make a profit on every thing we do.”
Wii would take on Microsoft’s existing Xbox 360 and the Sony’s upcoming Playstation 3 gaming console. However, low price is expected to generate a lot of sales for the company.
