Sony gets the clue: Playstation 3 price for Japanese market dropped
Japanese consumer electronic giant Sony has confirmed that they have decided to drop the price of its much-anticipated PlayStation 3 video game console in Japan.
The price of this upcoming gaming console has been dropped by around 20% to put it in a better position to face competition from rival Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
Interestingly, the announcement came just days after Microsoft announced the HD DVD attachment for their Xbox 360 gaming console.
Sony is shipping the PS3 console with a Blu-Ray drive and Xbox 360 owners can get similar functionality by purchasing this add-on HD DVD drive.
The company has however said that no price cuts are currently planned for other markets including the crucial US market.
