HD-DVD for Microsoft Xbox 360 to cost $200 in USA
Software giant Microsoft has announced more details on their upcoming HD DVD attachment for their Xbox 360 gaming console.
The company also announced a new partnership with the Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh who were the creative force behind the \”The Lord of the Rings.\”
Microsoft said in a statement that the HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 would be available in mid-November in North America for $200.
It would cost 130 pounds sterling in the UK market and 200 Euros in France and Germany.
The company plans to ship the HD DVD drive with a copy of Jackson\’s film \”King Kong” for a limited period.
This new device would help Microsoft take on Sony Playstation 3 gaming console due for launch in November. PS3 would ship with a Blu-Ray drive, which is a competing format to HD DVD.
