Sony to launch silver colored Playstation 2 limited edition release
Japanese consumer electronics maker Sony has said that they would be launching a “silver edition” Playstation 2 gaming console during the upcoming holiday season.
It would retail for $129 in the US market. Canadian users would have to pay 10 dollars more for this console.
It seems like the console would be similar to regular PS2 units except for the new silver color. This could be a good buy for people who do not aim to pay double or even many times more for other consoles available on sale. Nintendo Wii would go on sale for USD 250 this holiday season. And it is the cheapest of the three next generation consoles.
Sony is also due to launch their Playstation 3 this coming month. It would retail for USD 599. Market analysts expect the PS2 to outsell all the three individual consoles despite being many years old.
