Sony warning consumers about possible Playstation 3 scams
Japanese videogame console maker Sony is scheduled to launch their next generation gaming console Playstation 3 this month.
And they have now issued a statement warning the potential customers to avoid falling for false promotional offers for this highly anticipated console.
A large number of websites have been setup offering pre-orders of this console without the cooperation of the company.
Sony is recommending that users should order their units only from authorized retailers and resellers including well-known stores such as GameStop, EB Games, Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
The console is expensive and is priced between $500 and $600. It would take on Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii in the market.
