Sony has no plans to cut Playstation 3 prices in the USA
Japanese maker of videogame consoles Sony is due to launch their latest Playstation 3 gaming console this month.
And the company has said that they absolutely have no plans to introduce a price cut in the competitive US market as they have done for the Japanese market.
Kaz Hirai, president and chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment America said in a statement that they plan to stick to their planned price tags of $499 and $599.
Sony Playstation 3 would be launched in the US market on November 17. Hirai said: “We are very comfortable with the pricing we have announced and have gotten tremendous support from retailers for that price point. So it is full steam ahead with the pricing of $499 and $599.”
The company would launch the PS3 console in Japan on November 11. It would take on Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii gaming consoles.
