Microsoft confirms their plan to deliver 10 million Xbox 360 units
Software giant Microsoft has stated that they are going to meet their forecast for shipments of Xbox 360 video game consoles.
Peter Moore, vice president of Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division said that the company is on its way to reach 10 million shipments of the Xbox 360 gaming console by the end of 2006.
Their next goal is to ship 13 million to 15 million units by the end of its 2007 fiscal year. Microsoft has stated in October that they had shipped 6 million Xbox 360 gaming consoles by that time.
Microsoft is hoping that the ability to download and store digital content from the Xbox live service would help them gain the confidence of casual gamers who find it hard to spend big on getting a dedicated gaming console.
The company has 4 million Xbox Live subscribers.
