Sony sold as many as 88,400 PS3s in Japan in 2 days

There is finally some good news for the Japanese videogame console maker Sony. After massive delays in the launch and bad publicity in the press, Sony finally launched their next generation gaming console in their domestic market last week.

And as per incoming reports, they managed to sell as many as 88,400 units of its PlayStation 3 game console in the first two days.

This means that most stores in the country are now running out of stock of PS3 units. Sony is now going to launch this console in the US market on November 17.

Sony managed to supply just around 100,000 units of the console for the launch in their home market after suffering glitches in the supply chain. It takes on the Microsoft Xbox 360 console in the Japanese market and with Nintendo due to launch Wii in Japan soon, the videogame console market never looked as hot.
