Nintendo added that they are also planning to ship 1.5 million units of its handheld game player, the DS, in December in Japan. This would be their preparation for the upcoming holiday season in the country.
The company is already due to launch Nintendo Wii console in the US market this Sunday. Wii would be taking on Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in the market.
Sony has already sold around 100,000 units of PS3 since its launch on last Saturday.
