Nintendo Wii to allow gamers to surf the internet

Japan based videogame console maker Nintendo has said that their Wii gaming console would include ways for gamers with high-speed internet connectivity to surf the Web.

They would also be able to share photos, check the weather and browse news headlines using the console itself.

Nintendo is also planning to establish an online store where gamers would be able to buy newer games and other content.

Wii would be launched in the US market this coming Sunday and would cost just around USD 250. This is a bargain price when compared to rival consoles PS3 and Xbox 360.

The company is collaborating with content providers including Weathernews for local weather, with The Associated Press for news content and with Opera Software ASA for a Web browser for the Wii console.

Nintendo added that they are open to more such deals with other companies who would like to get their content/services offered on the Wii Console.
