Nintendo Wii sells more than 600,000 units in the United States

Nintendo Wii has been a massive hit in the US market as the company is estimated to have sold more than 600,000 units of this innovative gaming console.

These numbers are for the first 8 days of the launch of the console in this market and are close to around USD 190 million in sales figures.

The console has been a sellout as the company is failing to match the demand in the market. It is talking on Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 gaming console. Sony too is failing to meet the demand in the market and both Wii and PS3 are expected to remain sellout in the coming months.

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime spoke about their performance in the US market: “We’ve shipped retailers several times the amount of hardware the other company was able to deliver for its launch around the same time — and we still sold out.”
