Nintendo claims they are on track to meet targets for Wii sales

Japanese videogame console maker Nintendo had already sold more than 600,000 units of Wii in the market during the first eight days of the launch and they have now said that they are on track to achieve their sales target for the year.

Nintendo has plans to sell more than 4 million units of Wii before the end of the year. This means that they would have to sell around 3 million units within this month, which seems like a complicated task.

However, the console is due to launch in Japan today, which is a huge market for the company. And they are also due to launch it in Europe in the coming days.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime spoke about their plans for this month: “All systems are go for reaching the 4-million target we have in our financials by December 31. We will sell everything we make, so now it’s simply a manufacturing thing.”
