Nintendo Wii sells out on day 1 in Japan

Japanese gaming console maker Nintendo seems to have hit another jackpot with Nintendo Wii gaming console. They are already selling huge numbers of DS handheld gaming console and now Wii has proven to be another big seller for the company.

The company launched the Wii console in their home market of Japan yesterday and it has been a total sellout in the country.

Media reports claim that gamers around the country stood in lines waiting to buy Nintendo’s latest game console despite the extremely cold weather. Wii is being sold in Japan for 25,000 yen and is a lot cheaper than the rival console Playstation 3 from Sony.

The company has already sold more than 600,000 units of Wii in the market till now and they are aiming to sell more than 4 million before the end of the year.
