Sony update firmware of both Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable
Sony continues to release new firmware updates for both their PSP and PS3 gaming consoles. The latest PS3 firmware update takes it to version 1.30.
Sony has not released much information on what this patch fixes but gamers believe that this update reportedly changes how the PS3 outputs its video to HDTVs.
Another addition to the PS3 firmware update is a hard-drive backup utility to transfer data from removable media to the console’s hard drive.
The firmware for the PlayStation Portable has also been updated and it has now reached version 3.02. Gamers believe that this update is security specific blocking homebrew applications.
