China now puts restrictions on online gaming
A Chinese state news agency has said that the government is planning to put a tighter control on the online gaming industry in the region.
The new regulations would require to closely monitor the game contents. This is the just the latest of such rules put down by the government. They have placed similar rules on Chinese newspapers, television and other media.
The distributors would also be required to receive approval to release new games. They would also now be required to submit monthly monitoring reports.
China is one of the fastest growing internet markets in the world and has around 23 million online game players. The online gaming market is expected to generate revenues worth 7 billion Yuan this year.
