Dragon Quest to become a Nintendo DS exclusive now
Japanese videogame developers Square Enix Co has said that the next release of the hugely popular “Dragon Quest” role playing series would be released exclusively for the Nintendo DS handheld console.
The company added that Dragon Quest IX is being developed for just the DS console and it would be launched sometime next year.
A statement from the company said: “By taking full advantage of Nintendo DS’ wireless communication capability, we have fulfilled the thrill of (the) “network experience” — embarking on adventures with real ‘friends’ instead of on your own.”
This news would add to the woes of Sony as the game had been one of the most popular titles for their Playstation platform.
“Dragon Quest” game series has sold more than 41 million copies worldwide since its debut in 1986.
