Opera Browser for Nintendo Wii coming on December 22
Nintendo has just launched the Weather Channel for their Wii gaming console. And the company has revealed that Opera Software ASA would be releasing a test version of their upcoming Opera web browser for Wii on December 22.
Scott Hedrick, Executive Vice President, Devices at Opera Software spoke on this development: “Our software brings the power and reach of the Internet to the hottest video game system available. Wii’s unique interface adds a new dimension to our browser, making it a useful tool that the whole family will enjoy operating with ease.”
Opera added that the Opera browser for Wii would be optimized for television viewing and it would allow users to view sites, go interactive and insert text on sites using the onboard on-screen keyboard.
Nintendo would initially make the browser available as a free download. It would later be sold for 500 Wii points afterwards.
