Sony has shipped more than 1 million units of Playstation 3 in Japan
Japanese tech giant Sony has confirmed that they have now shipped more than a million units of their recently launched Playstation 3 gaming console in the Japanese market.
This means that the company is around two weeks behind schedule. They have already reached that target in the North American market.
Sony had originally targeted to ship 2 million units by the end of last year.
Sony Computer Entertainment went on to say that they are doing fantastic with the sales of the PS3 gaming console and this target was reached at the fastest pace for any game console ever put out by the company.
Market analysts have claimed that the company is failing to get the gamers to the stores and the shipped units are lying unsold at the retailers.
Sony Computer Entertainment spokeswoman Nanako Kato added that they are still on track to meet their initial target of global shipment of 6 million PS3 machines by March 31.
