Unreal Tournament 2007 to be called Unreal Tournament III

Epic Games and Midway have announced that they are now renaming Unreal Tournament 2007. The game would now be called Unreal Tournament III.

The game would be released for three platforms PC, Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

The developers are aiming to launch the game before the end of the current year.

This latest edition would be a follow-up title to Unreal. The game would be focused on multiplayer gaming. Epic vice president Mark Rein said in a statement on this game: “The new name is to reflect the fact that this game is the next generation of the Unreal series, based on the Unreal Engine 3.”

The company has had massive success with their Gears of War game on the Xbox 360 console. The company has sold more than 3 million copies of this game since the launch.
