KONAMI ANNOUNCES KONAMI KIDS PLAYGROUND SERIES FOR THE PLAYSTATION®2 SYSTEM
New Series of Games Let Children Learn and Play with Custom Game Mat, Goal-Based Gameplay and Colorful Graphics
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – February 2, 2007 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Konami Kids Playground for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, a series of games for children that teach basic concepts such as colors, shapes and the alphabet through fun and simple gameplay using an original game mat. Frogger Hop, Skip & Jumpin’ Fun, Alphabet Circus, Dinosaur Shapes and Colors and Toy Pals Fun with Numbers will be the first four games released in the series, and each one will feature a series of mini-games that focus on a specific topic, making education fun while letting children take an active role in the learning process.
The Konami Kids Playground series will feature simple mat-based gameplay that gets children on their feet and active while providing valuable learning opportunities. Each game in the series will feature twelve distinct mini-games, each with their own specific learning theme. As they progress through each colorful area of the game, children will gain access to more mini-games that provide hours of fun and gain a sense of accomplishment as they receive positive feedback on their progress. Using a simple and versatile gaming mat that connects directly to the PlayStation 2 system, children can take part in a variety of different activities that encourage an active lifestyle and feature a wide range of gameplay elements.
