Nintendo Wii outsells Sony Playstation 3 in January
Nintendo Wii console managed to outsell Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console in the market by nearly three to one in the month of January.
This was claimed by the Japan’s largest video game magazine publisher, Enterbrain in a statement.
The magazine claimed that the Wii console saw sales of 405,000 Wii units last month. Sony in comparison managed to sell just around 148,000 units of the PS3.
These two consoles were launched in the month of November last year and they are taking on each other and the earlier released Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console.
Enterbrain said in a statement that Wii continues to benefit from a wider availability of games and better supply. PS3 continues to suffer from its high cost and lack of availability in most markets. Sony Playstation 3 is priced almost double that of the Nintendo Wii.
Enterbrain President Hirokazu Hamamura added in a statement: “There could be a price cut for the PS3 by the end of the year, and more software titles will hit the market. I expect the PS3 to be doing better after a while. Of course, the Wii will keep running ahead all the while.”

I say Wii is way better than PS3 and Xbox 360, specially because of the zelda games, it’s incredible, and I can’t wait for the new legend of zelda to come. I’m a nintendo fan, I’ve got everything from nintendo (snes, N64, gamecube, gameboy color, gameboy advance, nintendo DS and Wii). The only thing I want to say is that Nintendo have to get more action games (rated Teen and/or mature) because I have seen a lot of games just for kids, but that’s OK, I know that Nintendo will listen to what I say and that I really adimre them.
