TransGaming to work with Nvidia to bring PC games to Mac platform

Intel owned Mac owners have something to cheer about. TransGaming has announced that they are now going to work with graphics processor maker Nvidia to bring more top-tier PC games to the Mac.

The company develops the Cider virtualization technology that enables Windows games to run on Intel-based Macs. This removes the hassle for the user to wait for ported versions of these games.

Nvidia makes graphic cards which powers some of the Mac computers. They are also behind the Cg, a high-level 3D graphics programming language which is used by several PC games maker.

Vikas Gupta, CEO and President of TransGaming spoke about this new deal: “Our collaborative efforts with Cg provide a sophisticated alternative implementation of Direct3D compatible high level shaders on the Mac; this is important because Microsoft restricts the distribution of Direct3D on non-Microsoft platforms.”

TransGaming is hoping that this deal would someday result in same-day releases of games for the Windows and Mac OS X platforms.
