Tatung selling Xbox 360 at cheaper than official price

Tatung Company is a popular maker of consumer electronics in the Taiwan market and the company is offering a special package to its customers. The package comes with an Xbox 360 Premium edition console plus a software game for sale through its 3C retail chain in Taiwan.

This package has been priced at NT$9,999 which comes to just around USD 305. This is much cheaper than the official price of this combined package.

Microsoft of course is worried with this offering and has said that they would negotiate with Tatung to stop the price-cut competition.

Microsoft Taiwan further clarified that this product offering is a sales promotion organized purely by the retail chain and they currently have no plans to lower the price of their gaming console in the country. Tatung has responded by saying that they are offering this cheaper package to clean its Xbox 360 inventory as well as promote sales of other 3C products.
